10 Years of Serving Rochester's Youth

It was 10 years ago when a small group came together to open a Boys & Girls Club in Rochester.  A small group, who created a vision, searched for funding, developed a board and opened the doors of Boys & Girls Club of Rochester in early 2000. 

It all began in a small building across the street from Cub Foods.  Soon after the doors opened the Club out grew its space.  Today the Boys & Girls Club serves over 1800 members in 3 full service sites, over 200 youth a day attend the programs and services the Club provides. 

In the last 10 years we have provided high school seniors who need it the most over $25,000 in college scholarships.  We have assisted over 3000 youth with their homework.  Served over 175,000 meals and snacks, youth have learned to swim, read, act, write, garden, sing, dance, play, and care for others and our community. Youth have traveled thousands of miles taking both physical and virtual field trips, they have explored cultures, learned to unify through differences and embraced each other.  In 10 years, members have become nurses, entrepreneurs, navy officers, college graduates, high school graduates and contributing members of our community.

 

Ten years has brought a lot of change and growth in our world impacting everyone’s lives…  Thank you for making the last ten years GREAT!
