Circles of Giving Banquet

Volunteer of the Year Award

This award is presented to an individual in recognition and sincere appreciation of outstanding volunteer service on behalf of the boys and girls of our community and Club.  Our Volunteer of the Year is Tom Weber. 

Most Valuable Professional Award

This award allows the Club to recognize the dedicated service and significant and positive influence of a Club staff member. When a staff member goes above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis to make a significant contribution to our organization and to members we recognize him or her as an MVP.  Through this staff person’s inspired decision to go the extra mile, she has been able to gain a troubled child’s trust, empower him to work toward doing better in school and help him develop tools to get along better with others. The 2009 Most Valuable Professional is Blooming Prairie’s Youth Development Professional Abby Heimer.

Champion of Youth

This honor is given in recognition of outstanding commitment to Rochester youth, community and the Club.  The vision, courage, enthusiasm and leadership that is provided, serves as an inspiration to us all.  To Champion is to advocate, support, build up and make, in your own efforts, a commitment to the success of all around you.  Rochester Sand & Gravel is our Champion of Youth.

From the Heart Award

This award is presented to a person who, with great commitment, has shown enduring dedication and stewardship to making a positive difference in the lives of our Club members and our entire organization.  This award is to recognize an individual who we hold dearest in our hearts; who defines giver; who is a servant leader; who is a dependable volunteer always there when you need the most.  The From the Heart Award was presented to Tammy Westby from Yaggy Colby for her incredible commitment to serve others.

Woman and Youth Award

This award is given to a woman who demonstrates a tremendous commitment to investing personal time, talents and treasures into the youth of our community. This individual sacrificially gives of herself to make a profound and lasting impact in the lives of young people and in our entire community. Her influence, compassion and commitment to the Boys & Girls Club’s mission serve as an inspiration.  This year's Woman and Youth Award recipient is Margaret Lundquist. 

Man and Youth Award

This award is given to a man who demonstrates a tremendous commitment to investing personal time, talents and treasures into the youth of our community. This individual sacrificially gives of himself to make a profound and lasting impact in the lives of young people and in our entire community. His influence, compassion and commitment to the Boys & Girls Club’s mission serve as an inspiration.  He is truly about making a difference in the lives of all the children in our community.   This year’s winner of The Man & Youth Award is Chris Terry.
