Volunteer

 

We are looking for fantastic, dedicated volunteers at Boys & Girls Club! Our volunteers change lives. As a Club volunteer, you help provide a safe, fun, and nurturing place where our members feel welcome. Make a lifelong impact on your community and change the life of a child.

All volunteers must be age 18 or older, pass a thorough background check, and complete volunteer training prior to participating.

Blue Buddy Program

Meal Buddies:

Adult volunteers have the opportunity to “buddy up” daily with our youth during meal service. Volunteers check in with Club staff in the community room, then can assist with the meal line as members go through the buffet, sit with members while eating, engage in conversation, help with clean up, or pour water/milk.

o School year opportunity Monday – Friday 3:45 pm – 4:45 pm

o Summer opportunity

* Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 8:00 am, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm

o Requirements

* Completed volunteer application, * 2 Day notice of date selected to Welcome Center at 507-287-2300

Reading Buddies:

Adult volunteers have the opportunity to support reading with our elementary Club members. Meeting in the Academic Success center and read with, read to, or listen to Club members explore books.

o School year opportunity

* 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month 3:45 pm – 4:45 pm

o Requirements

* Completed volunteer application, * 2 Day notice of date selected to Welcome Center at 507-287-2300

 

Gym Buddies:

Adult volunteers can engage in the gym with our K through 5th grade members during open gym time. Grab a basketball, hula hoop, or learn a new game while playing with members.

* Completed volunteer application, * 2 Day notice of date selected to Welcome Center at 507-287-2300

* Tennis Shoes

Walking Buddies:

Adult volunteers can “drive” our Walking School bus from Riverside Elementary school to Club. Daily we will be walking Club members from school to Club at 3:30 pm. The school staff will gather the kids and meet you to begin your walk.
